surgery date set!

today was my final ultrasound and bloodwork appointment before egg removal.
they were happy to tell me the eggs had continued to grow making it possible for them to say egg retrieval would be scheduled this thursday.
this means:

1. my last injections of lupron/hcg & fertility drug will be tonight
2. tomorrow i will give myself one final injection of ovidrel (helps follicles mature and to trigger the release of mature eggs from the ovaries) - this must be taken at the instructed time because exactly 34-36 hours later i will have surgery
3. my mom and sisters are coming down to drive me to surgery & take care of me!
   

it's nearly here. still today i feel positive about going through this process. i've read and heard some donors regret it or don't feel like it was worth it, but i don't feel that way. on the drive home from overland park today it dawned on me that i will soon, hopefully, make someone else pregnant. how wonderful.

side effects: i feel a lot of pressure when i urinate. i still feel bad walking fast or running a little because of the extra weight down there. i'm in good spirits and feel great otherwise. i have brusing around the sites they took blood from both of my arms. gross. otherwise no large bruising on my legs from the injection sites.


other news:
surprise, surprise! i have finally chosen depaul in chicago. no more seattle. it is closer to home and they have a better program. i'm sending in my $400 deposit within the next couple days!

berkley is doing well. last night was the first night she didn't make any noise all night in her kennel. it was great being able to sleep through the night.
